The David Glenn Show has become one of the best radio shows to listen to if you’re an App State Fan. Recently he interviewed Coach Moore & Brian Quick.

This time he interviews David Jackson who I am a huge fan of. No one comes off as knowledgeable about App State athletics as he does. So anytime you get a chance to hear an interview with him, it’s worth a listen. Mainly he talks about the growing rivalry with Montana and how this epic game came to be scheduled in the first place

The folks over at Yosef’s Cabin snagged an interview with David Jackson as well, which is definitely worth a read. While you’re there check out their new logo banner that I teamed up with them on.

Final NFL Roster Cuts Announced: Did Former App Players Make the Cut? *UPDATED*

MADE THE CUT

WR Armanti Edwards (Carolina) – Carolina is taking an interesting approach to their roster cuts, announcing them a piece at a time. But according to the Charlotte Observer, Armanti has made the roster! My biggest concern was that he would get cut and then not get picked up by another team. I’m glad they realized his potential and decided to keep him around. Now if only they could find a way to give him more playing time!

WR Brian Quick (St. Louis) – As the first pick of the 2nd round of the NFL draft, Brian Quick is a lock. Although only some of the cuts have been announced, there’s nothing to worry about here.

RB Travaris Cadet (New Orleans) – The under-the-radar breakout star of the preseason officially makes the team! His next challenge will be finding playing time on a roster with 5 RB.

S Corey Lynch (San Diego) – This is one that many were worried might be on the wrong side of the line today. Luckily those fears were put to rest as he is officially on the team!

LB D.J. Smith (Green Bay) – Officially makes the 53 man roster, no surprise since starter Desmond Bishop is injured. Hopefully we’ll get to see D.J. on the field a lot this season!

DE Jason Hunter (Denver) – Officially doesn’t get cut. But it’s not all good news here. As you may recall, he was seriously injured on Aug 14 during training camp, and is now listed as an injured reserve. He’s pretty much gone for the season, barring a miracle.

OG Daniel Kilgore (San Francisco) – According to reports, Kilgore is one of 8 offensive lineman to make the roster in San Francisco. He’ll be the backup, but I’m sure he’ll see some playing time at center.

DID NOT MAKE THE CUT

De’Andre Presley (San Diego) – This is truly disappointing. De’Andre was and is an incredible player who was trying to make a tough switch from QB to DB at the last second. Unfortunately the Chargers released him today. I hope he finds a new home soon.

*UPDATE* S Mark Legree (Chicago) – After being drafted by the Seahawks, then playing on the practice squads for the Cardinals, Jets, & 49ers, Legree was signed to a 1-year contract with the Bears this season. But it turns out the Bears still released him on waivers. He still has a chance at being picked up by another team or getting on a practice squad, including the one for the Bears if no one else picks him up.

WR Dexter Jackson (NY Jets) – Although he was cut last week, I included him here in the interest of covering every App player that started the preseason on a team. As one of the hero’s of the Michigan game, his name will ever be cemented in the minds of the App State fans who witnessed it. Hopefully he will be get picked up by someone else. But on a side note, thank God I don’t have to watch the Jets anymore.

Voice of the Mountaineers, David Jackson, was a guest on ESPN730 yesterday. Speaking of which, that radio station has been showing App State a lot of love lately. They had Charles Arbuckle on RECENTLY talking App State and ECU’s AD mostly fielding questions about App State.

David Jackson, who for my money is the best radio guy in the business, spoke about App State’s magical baseball run, the upcoming football season, and perhaps most interestingly, conference realignment: …READ MORE
