SITE UPDATE: Message Board Removed / Link Directory Added

Just wanted to give a quick update on a change with the site.

I initially created the message board to give fans a more professional looking option back when the Delphi MMB site was really the only one available. Now MMB has moved to a similar setup and other message boards like AppStateCentral have sprung up. That really made this board extraneous so I’ve removed it and instead added a LINKS page that serves as a sort of directory for not only App State message boards, but all App related sites on the web.

The AppStateNation blog itself is going strong, reaching 15,000 views in August and has a following of around 900 people on Twitter, Facebook, and Email Subscriptions. I’m always looking for new features to add so if you have any ideas, let me know! Thanks again for supporting AppStateNation!

Apps for App State Fans: Tapatalk

In this segment, we cover mobile apps for App State fans. Today we look at TAPATALK.

It’s basically a forum app. The problem with most forums/message boards is that they don’t translate well on to a mobile browser. Tapatalk solves that for you. Why is it a must have for App State fans? Well just look at the message boards it’s compatible with:

  • Any Given Saturday (Want to remind Furman Fans they still suck? This is the place to do it.)
  • CSNbbs (Want the newest C-USA/Sun Belt rumors? Not many better places than here.)
  • Literally hundreds, if not thousands, of other boards on all sorts of topics, not just athletics

It works with iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, and Chrome. Basically, if you have a smartphone, chances are this will work on it.

So now when you’re sitting around waiting at the Dentist, or the Barber, or wherever…you can quickly see all the most recent topics on all your favorite boards — right from your phone. Once you have it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. Check it out.

MESSAGE BOARD: Beta 1.5 Release

I was sick today, so I spent the morning redesigning the message board. I had received some critiques that the old format looked good but was too dark to read. This new format goes for a more traditional white background.

AppStateNation: New Message Board (Beta Release)

With the recent move to a private server, a lot of fun toys became available. First I created the in-game CHAT room, now I have made a full-fledged MESSAGE BOARD based on the popular phpBB3 format. I have also added a widget on the sidebar for quick navigation to a specific topic.

I’m calling this the “Beta Release” for now. You can help me by letting me know if you find any bugs or weird colors. In general any advice on the layout would be helpful. Hopefully you enjoy the new message board. These things take time to catch on, but you can help out by making it your primary App State forum and starting new discussions! Thanks!
