Unofficial Blogs

AppFan – The “original” App State blog where you can find news stories and tons of fan comments on each article.

App State Central – A newer site that is not just a blog. The weekly podcast really sets this site apart, but other features include a message board, free wallpapers, and the ability for readers to submit their own stories.

AppTrail – The Winston-Salem Journal’s App State blog. Features the writing of Tommy Bowman who has been covering App State since 1988.

Big C’s Tailgate – From the 2011 Tailgate of the Year comes this news blog. Covers not just football, but most of the olympic sports as well. Famous for its pre-game predictions.

Mountaineer Illustrated/Rivals – If you’ve got the spare cash for a subscription, you’ll get recruiting news here before anyone else and access to their message board.

Yosef’s Cabin – A newer App State blog that features several writers, excellent pre-game weather updates, and is the new home of the Mountaineer Message Board.

Verbal Commits-App State – This isn’t a “blog” per say, but it’s a great resource for tracking who has committed to App State basketball. It covers multiple schools, but the founder actually attended App for a few years.

Message Boards

App State Central Forum – A newer App State message board that uses custom code for a professional look.

Mountaineer Message Board @ Yosef’s Cabin – The most popular App State message board for roughly a decade recently moved to Yosef’s Cabin. It utilizes the PHPbb3 format and features a mobile version as well as compatibility with the Tapatalk app.

Rivals App State Forum – You’ll need cash for a subscription to access the private board, but always a good place to get info. It utilizes a custom format.

Any Given Saturday – A board for fans from every team in the FCS. Since App State is an elite FCS team you’ll find a large amount of discussion, and different perspectives, about App State here. It utilizes the VBulletin format and is compatible with the Tapatalk app.

Championship Subdivision – Similar to AGS in that it’s a forum for FCS fans. You’ll definitely find a lot of App State discussion here. It utilizes the PHPbb3 format and is compatible with the Tapatalk app.

SoCon Fans Message Board – A new message board that seeks to bring fans from all of the SoCon teams together. It uses the ProBoards format and is compatible with the ProBoards app.

CSNbbs – A message board that has a separate area for every conference, and then a separate board for every team. Although the SoCon/AppState section is pretty dead, this is one of the best places to find realignment news in the conference realignment section, as well as the C-USA, MAC, and Sun Belt sections. It utilizes MyBB (my favorite format) and is compatible with the Tapatalk app.
