Rumors are rumors. But it seems the possibility is getting stronger. I think it would be foolish to add Georgia Southern and not add Appalachian State. Too much $$$ to lose

Appalachian state doesn’t have to get in the sun belt cause of Georgia Southern. Appalachian state doesn’t bring enough but HG attendance, no tv market and plus its hard to get to their campus.

      • AppinATL says:

Really? Have you been to the App State campus in the last few years? Not hard to get to at all anymore. And by the way, tell me what great TV market GA Southern brings to the table.

Your an idiot! Roads are or have been winded into Boone. Two major airports within two hours. Avg 26k for home games with many at 30k. Get your facts straight!

Still not convinced that we will wind up in the SBC. Not sure our athletic admin is still sold on it.

  3. Sid says:

If it is the SBC it would be about the only other conference to consider outside of CUSA. MAC maybe, considering the distance to western schools in the MAC. Even with an east west conference makeup the lack of competition between divisions depletes the rivalry makeup of a conference. ASU’s AD Cobb needs to realize that distance means nothing on a national scale when it comes to respectability. No FBS means low respectability by comparison as an FCS program. Time to get with the program and travel. When Notre Dame travels to Miami for football or USC travels to Notre Dame etc. it is all about exposure. The SOCON gives you about as much exposure as ESPN High School Playoff Broadcasts do. Maybe less! Stepup or shutup. I don’t think the Sunbelt wants to miss out on the impact of App St in the mix. Given the additional scholarships and financial boost, ASU could be a dominate player in the Sunbelt which would bode well for everyone. Who else has the attention for stirring the drink like the Apps, New Mexico State who? Yeah right.

  4. champ says:

App State welcome to the Sunbelt. Dominant this league. I’m really looking forward to App State vs. Troy match up. Going to be a fun league. App just needs to fix their defense and I could see them winning this league annually

  5. Tony says:

Sometimes you have to wait and see. But those rumors seems to be true as I have heard the same from different sources, but not of App St. Georgia Southern maybe invited soon as they lose or win the FCS playoffs.

Who should the next App State coach be? We need someone who can get the job done. What about Chris Hatcher? Just a thought..
