Georgia Southern announced today that the resolution to increase student fees has passed. The immediate result from the $25 portion of the fee will be a 6,000 seat stadium expansion. In reality, they don’t have anywhere in the FBS to go (like us). So this will just help them compete better at the FCS level.
The $75 FBS fee won’t even be implemented unless they get an FBS invite. It will cover the additional scholarships necessary and the addition of several sports.
“Women’s golf, women’s rifle and women’s sand volleyball would be viable as a program to bring Georgia Southern to the minimum number of sports required (16) for FBS reclassification.”
Our advantage over Georgia Southern was that we were better prepared facility-wise for FBS than they were. We also have a lot of name recognition from our Michigan win. It looks like Georgia Southern is doing their best to equalize the facility race. In the end, hopefully we both end up in the same FBS conference.

GSU is already in the Sun Belt Conference (FBS). Georgia Southern is NOT called GSU.
georgia southern needs to play georgia state and beat the crap out of your team. then make you change your team initials because GSU is from statesboro, ga and the real GSU wouldn’t loose like georgia state , you are making a bad name for GSU.

Go fbs and the eagles will still beat you. Be careful what you wish for georgia state, if playing georgia southern will get owned. Georgia southern has camps for high school students send georgia state and maybe they can learn how to win a game
