It’s Monday so you know what that means! We take a look at the meaningless Top-25. This week may be extra meaningless since many of these rankings make no sense.
For example, App State beat Montana, but since Montana beat a winless Liberty team and we lost to a ranked Citadel team I guess that means they are better than us now. So they are 3 spots higher than us.
Georgia Southern and Appalachian State both have only 1 win. Theirs is over Jacksonville (who cares) and ours is over a ranked Montana team. Sure they didn’t get beat AS bad by The Citadel. But does that mean they are the 11th best team in the country? 6 spots better than us? Hell Samford is undefeated and can’t even get a #25 nod.
James Madison gets the #6 spot despite getting their only wins against a D-II and a SWAC school. Yet McNeese State is undefeated with a win over traditional Sun Belt power MTSU and they’re #19, 2 spots below us. Craziness.
Obviously, it’s still way to early to know who the 25 best teams in the country are, much less what order. But for what it’s worth here’s the poll:
