Appalachian State got 2 commitments recently from identical twins Perez & Terez Cowan who are Juniors out of Decatur, GA. It looks like they also got some time at CB.

Judging from the highlight tapes and reading some things their coach wrote about them, I’m excited about their playmaking potential. My only concern seems to be that they apparently went to school in a rough area, and as a result got into some fights on the field.

App. State gave us a chance to show the world our talents even tho we got into some trouble thats why i was leaning closer to them

One article talks about a fight that was so large the game was called, but the Cowan’s kept their distance in that one:

“Hey, don’t blame me,” said junior Perez Cowan, one-half of Decatur’s illustrious and occasionally combative identical twins (Terez is the other). “When the trouble started I walked away.”

However, in another incident Terez threw a punch:

“Early in the fourth, the score still 24-21, a Decatur drive fizzled, Jason Barefoot punted, and on the ensuing return junior Terez Cowan was flagged for throwing a punch. He was immediately ejected and will also be ineligible to play next week.”

Personally, I’m willing to give them a chance to show they’ve grown since high school. Football is a rough game, and violence is part of it, but kids have to know where the line is drawn. Life is all about 2nd chances. I just hope they realize they probably won’t get a third.

I’m excited about seeing what this tag team can do and I hope they translate that toughness into leadership and big plays. Welcome to App State Cowan brothers!

The discipline level required to play ball from HS to college is a massive step. I’m sure the coaches will help mentor these guys. Looking forward to seeing them on the field.

I hope so. However, this past year has not been a good one with respect to off field distractions. I’m more concerned about their character than their talent.
