Remember last year when the SoCon had football games on PBS? Well according to the Times Free Press, that won’t happen this year…Try to contain your grief.
So what can we watch App State games on? Well obviously there’s GoASU TV which you can subscribe to for $69.95 a year. But other than that, the SoCon has a deal with ESPN3 to show 40 events from different sports, many of them football. If the game is on ESPN3, it probably won’t be shown on on GOASU TV, so you’ll want access to it if you can’t make it to the game.
To Watch ESPN3: You have to subscribe to a participating cable TV provider OR internet provider that offers ESPN3.
Ok so your internet provider offers ESPN3, how are you going to watch it on your 55in flat screen TV instead of your 15in computer screen? Well there are a couple of ways:
1. XBox 360: Downloading the WatchESPN app to your Xbox is probably the easiest way, if you have one connected to the internet.
2. HDMI Cable: Plug your computer into your tv using an HDMI cable. (If your computer has an HDMI out)
3. Digital Media Receiver: Buy one of these and have Wi-Fi in your house. Follow the instructions included with the receiver.
4. PlayON: With this you can use your Wii or PS3, but it’s $40 for for an annual subscription to use the software.
Alternatively, you can download the WatchESPN app to your iPad or mobile device.

Eight SoCon football games will be shown this fall
Really? Only 8 football games per season. EPSN3 only doesn’t bother me, but you’d think they could at least shown 2 games a week.
Sucks the SoCon couldn’t get a deal like the CAA’s NBCSN. Though, I know that deal had more to do with BBall than Football.
