I saw this picture on the Appalachian Alumni Association’s FLICKR account, and I couldn’t help but share.

As most of you know I’m an Air Force Lt myself, but I’m sure nothing I’ve seen in my deployments compares to what these Soldiers in Afghanistan go through on a daily basis. Seeing pictures like this really puts comparatively unimportant topics like football and conference affiliation into perspective.
