This is a RUMOR. I say it again…*RUMOR ALERT*. Don’t get pissed off if this doesn’t happen.
According to an Arkansas State “Insider”, App State is #1 on Sun Belt’s expansion list along with NMSU for football only. That would give the conference 12 football teams that would look something like this:

Tomorrow (May 7th) is when the Sun Belt school Presidents will be holding a meeting to discuss their next move = FACT
According to this rumor, App State will receive their invite during/after this meeting. This rumor was started on Sun Belt BBS, by an Arkansas State Insider. His “Insider” title means that he has been selected as a lead writer for his school at Sun Belt BBS, which is the primary Sun Belt message board on the internet. If you read the responses it is clear that this guy is usually right and at the very least isn’t just straight making it up. Where there’s smoke, hopefully there is fire.

Why am I resorting to posting rumors from message boards? Well frankly this is a blog, not ESPN.com and none of the major sports sites know what’s going on. Hey maybe neither does this guy, but take it for what it is. I for one hope it’s true!
I sure hope that it’s true.
Let’s file before May 25th and pay the $15,000 NCAA fee so we do not have to wait an extra year to be FBS.

Beginning to think this is just another “rumor” that will stoke everybody’s emotions and then when things fall silent it’s time to realize it’s just another hoax.
So much for the announcement today…Doesn’t mean it isn’t coming but likely later rather sooner…why do we fall for these rumors every time.
The original source now says that SB will wait until after the 2012 season. An up is once again followed by a down.
