• BASEBALL: Today’s game against EKU was rained out. It will now be a doubleheader starting @ 1pm, tomorrow in Boone.

• CONFERENCE REALIGNMENT: As people who have been paying attention already know, the CUSA/MWC merger is UNLIKELY at this point. Too much money, and a basketball autobid, would have been lost in the process. It will take the form of some sort of “Alliance”. Which means they’ll work together to get better TV contracts, etc. But there will still be a separate CUSA and a MWC. As we already know the likely candidates for the MWC are Utah State & San Jose State. For the CUSA the likely additions are LA Tech, North Texas, & Florida International. UNCC is listed as a “possibility”.

• LADY’S GOLF: Congrats to Coach Heather Brown for SIGNING the Mountain Athletic 4A/3A Conference’s Player of the Year, Madalyn Davis. According to the coach we might be seeing her on TV one day, at the professional level.

• BASKETBALL RECRUITING: According to his TWITTER account, Rantavious Gilbert will be signing his commitment letter to Appalachian State on Thursday @ 11am. Also according to @TheRecruitScoop, “Appalachian State was in to see 2012 Miller Grove (GA) PG Christian Houston workout today, per his coach.”
